Moises Tejada has extensive experience in the fields of labor, immigration, and maritime law, as well as conflict resolution. His recent accomplishments include the successful execution of employee relocation projects for national and international companies. His practice focuses on administrative law, guaranteeing compliance with immigration and labor regulations.
Before joining Bufete Illueca, Moisés gained substantial experience in Panama’s Judicial Branch, reaching important positions such as Stenographer, Clerk and Chief Clerk. His work in different courts and tribunals allowed him to acquire extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of civil and criminal procedural law. Additionally, he worked as a lawyer and chief legal officer of the Department of Resolutions and Consultations of the General Directorate of Merchant Shipping at Panama’s Maritime Authority, where he acquired important experience in the registration of ships, tax treatment of vessels using Panamanian ports, vessels’ financing, privileged maritime credits, and maritime litigation.
Moisés was part of the technical team charge with supervising the ratification and implementation process of the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships‘ Ballast Water and Sediments (Ballast Water Management Convention, 2004). Likewise, he was part of the legal team in charge of drafting the internal regulations of the said Agreement.
